Uni Open Day season is here
University Open Days are held from the last weekend in July and throughout August on weekends. I have placed information about Open Days into year level Teams for students in Years 10-12. Attending open days to find out more about universities and courses is important and I encourage students and families to do so over the next six weeks.
Subject selection and transition planning
Students in Years 10 and 11 have now completed their subject selection for 2024. A reminder that final selections can be made next week (week 3). I recommend that Year 10 students check released prerequisites for tertiary courses prior to finalising their selections. When prerequisites are released I will post a link in the Careers channel on Teams.
Year 12 students will commence their transition planning this term, and should ensure that they are attending Connect sessions to work on their plans and applications.
Students should have already:
- have their USI (Unique Student Identifier). Go to www.usi.gov.au for more information.
- have, or have applied for, a Tax File Number.
Students planning on taking a GAP Year should still apply for courses, which can be accepted and deferred. Students applying for apprenticeships/traineeships should be working on their resume and preparing for the application process – as well as putting in appropriate courses for their ‘back-up’ plan. VCE Scored students can apply for Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates. VCE Unscored and VCE-VM students can apply for Diploma and Certificate courses.
Year 12 students will be briefed on the VTAC application process and how to apply during extended Connect next week. Applications will open on July 31st, and we would like all Year 12 students to have completed the process of applying for courses, SEAS and scholarships by the end of term (September 15th).
Year 9 students will be completing their Morrisby assessment on 11 September in the final week of Term 3.
