CSA Conference & Celebrations

Written by Mrs Adele Hester

On Monday & Tuesday (July 10th-11th), MCC staff travelled to the annual Christian Schools Australia State Conference in Bendigo.

It was a great time of learning, growth and fellowship for staff with plenty of time on the drive for all the chit-chat we're normally too busy for.  The opportunity to hear from some challenging, inspiring, and uplifting speakers and to meet with Christian educators from other schools was a great blessing.

Conference kicked off with worship and prayer before some powerful words from the speakers.

Eric Agyeman spoke on 'The Power of Words' - inspiring, powerful and encouraging. Focusing on the story of Jesus Calming the Storm in Mark 4, he related that to the personal storms that we face - preaching about a call for us to be calm in the midst of the storm.

Speaking about his personal storms was touching to hear. He finished with this quote "Oh God, your sea is so big; my boat is so small." The meaning was that even though it's God's sea, He's willing to step into our boat. Eric visited MCC in April 2021, and seeing and hearing from him again was a blessing!

We also heard from Max Jeganathan, Dr Natasha Moore from the Centre for Public Christianity (CPX), and Ps Craig Groeschel from LifeChurch in America.

On Wednesday (July 13th), after our return from conference, we refreshed our first aid training stopping to celebrate the beginning of a new term with a staff lunch. Everyone brought something to share, and it was great to have fellowship again before the start of Term 3.
