Growing up Online:

In partnership with the Resilience Project, the College conducted a student Mental Health survey in Term 1.  Survey results have been analysed and the College is utilsing this Mental Health Report to support future directions. The survey has indicated that evening device use at home between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM is rather high. It is well documented that technology use and social media access prior to sleep impacts sleep patterns and, therefore, a student’s readiness to learn.

As such, the College has decided to invite Susan Mclean to our community for a parent information evening.

Susan Mc Clean - Australia’s foremost expert in the area of cyber safety was a member of Victoria Police for 27 years. Widely known as the ‘cyber cop’ she was the first Victoria Police Officer appointed to a position involving cyber safety and young people.

Susan’s unparalleled knowledge leaves audiences informed and ready to approach parenting armed with the reality of the online world. The session will cover the positive benefits of technology as well as what parents need to be aware of when dealing with teenagers.

We look forward to seeing all parents/guardians/careers attending.
