Ancient’s Day 2023

Last Tuesday, Year 7 students participated in Ancients Day as part of our Humanities subject! We enjoyed taking part in several activities, such as watching the film ‘Hercules’, playing a game of ‘Gladiators’, and learning about ancient Greece, Egypt and Rome. It was so fun as our Humanities teachers bought us popcorn to snack on during the movie, where we were able to learn more about one of the Greek heroes we studied in History classes. We also played with cool equipment on the day, which we’ve never used before, thanks to the ‘History Up Close’ incursion providers.

"We learned interesting facts and got to wear helmets and armour made of bronze and tried on clothing from the ancient times” - Akshara A in Year 7 said when interviewed about ‘Ancients Day’. Another Year 7 student, Zara B, also said, “My favourite part was watching my classmates dress up in ancient clothes and jewellery, and when we all gagged smelling the perfume used in ancient history”.

Many of us enjoyed Ancient’s Day. We had fun and learnt new things at the same time!
