Message from the Principal

St Anthony’s Parish and St Anthony’s School hold the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as central and fundamental responsibilities of the Church. St Anthony’s is fully compliant with all policies in relation to Child Safety. These documents ensure compliance with the Victorian Government Child Safety Standards which took effect on 1 January 2017 and reflect our Parishes’ ongoing commitment to ensuring that all children are safe, happy and empowered.

Welcome to week 8 and 9

Dear Parents,

We came together on Monday, led by the SRC team and Christelle to acknowledge Remembrance Day. Our community gathered to honour and reflect on the impact of war and to remember the supreme sacrifice made by so many so that we enjoy freedom today. Every student created something special on Monday and two of our leaders, Adam and Alika joined the locals at Noble Park on Sunday to lay a wreath and honour the fallen. I was most proud of our student leaders for attending on behalf of St Anthony's on Sunday. Thank you Adam and Alika and families.

We welcomed back our new Preps on Thursday together with their parents and guardians. We are so proud of our new little pre-preps. They are transitioning from Kinder to prep with such wonder and curiosity and they are very settled and sociable.  It was lovely to have lots of time to chat with all parents and carers in the staffroom and enjoy morning tea and questions with many of our current parents. Thanks to Suzan, Krutisha, Annie, Thanh, Nga, Maria and Sokhom for joining us.

We shared a great video about transitioning to school. It has some really good reminders about school as a new environment for our little ones.

Enjoy the next couple of weeks as we journey closer to Advent and our Year 6 students prepare to leave us. Please go gently as the end of year can bring anxiety and worry with the transition to new schools, levels and new challenges. It is a time to look after each other more carefully and mindfully.

As always if you have any feedback, ideas or you need any assistance at all, you are always most welcome to see me, Mr James Gow, Mrs Glennis Kerr or any member of the wider school leadership team.

God Bless,

Patrika Rowley
