Japanese

We have been very busy in Japanese this term with plenty of speaking practice, hiragana writing, cultural activities and team challenges!

Year 8

Year 8 completed an online task using Education Perfect to demonstrate their knowledge of reading and comprehending Japanese grammar structures. They are now fully engaged in Unit 3 - Tokyo Olympics, where they are competing in country teams in a variety of language and cultural activities. Competition is fierce with a Medal Tally for each class! Some classes are finishing the term with an Origami Exhibition, showcasing their creativity and teamwork.

Year 10

Year 10 spent the first half of the term focusing on shopping in Japan, learning higher numbers and how to ask for various items, then commenting on their suitability. With the Olympic Games coming up in Japan next month, the students have begun looking more closely at Tokyo, different Olympic sports, locations and directions. This unit will continue on into next term, culminating in  direction giving/following scavenger hunt around the College.
