Academic Care and Wellbeing - Students

Committee4Wagga

On Friday 18 of June Sophie Edmunds, Harry Hallcroft and Haille Willis graduated from the Committee4Wagga Student Leaders Program.  The graduation was a culmination of 8 modules that incorporated personal challenges and opportunities to work with professionals to develop their leadership skills including mental health and wellbeing, initiative, teamwork and respect.

Each of the 17 students in the program gave a speech that encapsulated their best experience of the Program.  Haille spoke of empathy and how words can have an impact on our lives and the lives of others. Harry spoke of teamwork and trust and Sophie spoke about health and wellbeing and having a balanced life.  The College is very proud of their achievements in the program. What fantastic ambassadors they will be for Wagga.

Congratulations on your graduation Sophie, Harry and Haille.

Beanie for Brain Cancer Day

Beanie for Brain Cancer Day was held Tuesday June 22. Our students showed amazing support for this charity by wearing a beanie and donating a gold coin.  Thank you to the Mater Dei community for supporting this great cause.

The College raised $500 and it will be donated to fund research into Brain cancer.

Year 11 Senior Leadership Process Launch

Following a productive Reflection Day on Monday with Mr Chris Doyle from Karis Ministries, our Year 11 students gathered again in the Marian Centre the following morning for the launch of their leadership process.

Year 11 students were given some insight into the challenges and benefits of leadership. Our current Year 12 Captains were inspirational in speaking with House groups and answering all the questions Year 11 had about the application process and the roles and responsibilities of a captain.

Applications are now open for students to apply for both House and College Captain positions for 2022 and close on Friday, August 13 (Term 3, Week 5).

Year 12 2022 College Jumpers

Year 11 are also in the process of designing their 2022 College jumper. We have a dedicated team who will be showcasing their designs for Year 11 to vote on early next term.  Students are asked to visit the Uniform Shop to order and pay for their jumpers as soon as possible.
