Tennis at FPS
Tennis lessons will again be offered at FPS on Thursdays mornings across the term from 8.15am – 8.45am. If your child is interested in participating, please complete the enrolment form and drop it off at the school office. Enrolment forms are attached and also at the school office.

Northcote United Cricket Club—Players Wanted
Northcote United Cricket Club are located at Alphington Park, Alphington and currently competes in the Eastern cricket association. The club is looking to expand their junior program, for both girls and boys.

Online Presentation: School Design Talk – Fitzroy Gasworks (Senior Campus)
Hear from an expert panel as they discuss the innovative new vertical secondary school opening in Term 1, 2022 In Melbourne’s inner north. The school will be a state-of-the-art senior secondary campus for Collingwood College and Fitzroy High School’s senior program partnership, located on Queens Parade, Fitzroy North.

Vote to Name a New Bridge
In partnership with Moreland Council, Darebin Council has constructed a bridge that suspends over the Merri Creek and connects Beavers Road, Northcote to Kingfisher Gardens, Brunswick East. The bridge was completed and opened to the public on 16 September 2020 and a request was received to name the bridge.
After consultation with the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation, Darebin City Council narrowed down the list of potential names for the new bridge to two. They are:
- Bindjirru Parren Bridge (means Two Way in Woi Wurrung Language)
- Warrk-warrk Bridge (means Nimble in Woi Wurrung Language)
Council is now seeking community feedback from those live in the Darebin and Moreland community to cast their vote for the preferred name.
- How to vote: Vote online using the online form.
- You must include your name, address and contact details for the vote to be valid.
- If you wish to object to the potential names, you must explain why you do not support the names.
- Voting closes on 2 August 2021.
Parenting Course: Strategies to Manage your Children’s Anxiety
The Triple P Team at Berry Street are offering a six-week group program for parents to learn new strategies to manage their children’s anxiety. These sessions are for parents who are concerned about their child’s anxiety and would like to learn new strategies that they can put in place to support the wellbeing of their child.

Parenting in the Pub: Sex Education
A parent-run group is holding a series of sex education classes for parents over term three and four at the Post Office Hotel, Sydney Road, Coburg.
Called Parenting in the Pub, these informal sessions will discuss sex, respectful relationships, puberty, porn, social media and consent with kids of any age. There will also be a range of guest speakers, including Michael Carr-Gregg, Family Planning Victoria, and Sex Education Australia.

Melbourne Farmers Markets: Mid-Week Offerings in Alphington
Melbourne Farmers Markets have been running a weekly accredited Sunday farmers’ market in Alphington for over two years now. On-site there is also a commercial kitchen (working a lot with NFPs), food security programs, regional food distribution, as well as sharing the site with some amazing partners.
Great news! A Midweek Farmgate PopUp has just launched! This small-scale market will be held every Thursday from 2 – 5pm. Showcasing amazing Victorian farmers and producers, this market offers a chance for a mid-week top up of veggies, eggs, bread, etc. Plus, there will be hot food and special guest stars each time!
