BDSSA SUMMER FIXTURE

PPPS Athletics Carnival

What a amazing day the year 4, 5 and 6 students had at our PPPS athletics carnival on the first day of term 3! It was very cold to start with, but warmed up just a little as the day progressed. There was plenty of cheering throughout the day, especially when all of the house team colours were called out and even more when the student representatives placed 2nd in their race in the 100m relay against the teachers, the RMIT and SEDA student volunteers!

It was great to see all of the students getting into the team spirit and dressing up in their house sports colours and cheering each other on all day. There were smiles all around on the students’ faces throughout the day, which indicated that everyone was having fun, while braving the cold!

Approximately 300 students enjoyed the carnival, each experiencing every event and ‘having a go’ at being measured and timed on the international athletics stadium, a great consolidation of our athletics program for last semester.

The final house team results for the day ended up with Green and Gold house placing equal third, blue house placing second for the day and RED house making it in first position with 929 points for their team. Congratulations to RED house for winning the most points, they will have ‘RED’ engraved on our plaque for the year 2021 athletics sports. This plaque is housed in the GYM foyer.
