Learning and Teaching

ITALIAN :  Juniors

During Term 2 the SFS students have been busy with their Italian learning both at school and at home.

The Junior students have explored ELLA (Early Learning Languages Australia) App 8 - Going to school.

The language associated with this app includes introducing themselves, their age, year level as well as likes and dislikes in Italian.

They have also learnt a new song called ‘Andiamo a school’ (Let’s go to school)

Bravissimi  juniors on a great term of learning Italian !

ITALIAN :  Seniors

Senior students have continued to learn and use functional language in Italian using the ‘ Speak Up’ Program. They have participated in lots of games and activities which have given them the opportunity to practice and use the language. They have used gestures to assist them learn and understand these words. The students have earned themselves ‘Pegs’ during their Italian lesson. These are rewarded when they use the language. These pegs are then converted to raffle tickets. The more raffle tickets they earn the more chances they have of winning class prizes throughout the term.

SOCCER FUN DAY

Friday June 25th

Unfortunately the weather interfered with our soccer fun day. Seniors almost finished all their activities while Juniors had an amended version of their rotational activities in their Learning Space. It was fantastic to see all the students and teachers in their soccer/sports tops or colours.

SENIORS

Seniors were involved in House Soccer Matches from 9.00 am – 11.00 am. Grade 5/6 Houses played first with the Grade 3/4 students cheering for their House, then Grade 3/4 Houses played as the Grade 5/6 students cheered. There was a great atmosphere!!! We would like to congratulate Grade 5/6 Teresa House for winning the competition! Grade 3/4 Houses unfortunately didn’t get to finish their final game so this will be played during their Friday sports time next term. Both Houses will be presented with their trophy next term, which will have their House engraved on it for 2021 and kept in our trophy cabinet ready for next year’s competition.

JUNIORS

Juniors had a great time involved in rotational soccer activities within their Learning Spaces due to the rain. Students rotated around 3 activities focussed on developing their soccer skills.

We would like to thank the Grade 6 students who volunteered to assist in running the junior rotational activities. They demonstrated great leadership skills and assisted the juniors to have a great time!

Thank you to: Fiona, Megha, Diya, Advaitha, Hannah, Chloe, Marlie, Charlotte, Dhiya, Abigail, Tiara, Brooklyn, Brandon, Abel, Matthew, Athul, Max and Fotis.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the students who participated with enthusiasm and excitement. We would also like to thank all the staff for their support, enthusiasm and flexibility. Days like this wouldn’t happen without the support of our great staff.
