As you are aware we have gone into lock down 5.0.  Next week we will be following the same guidelines that were established during our lock down in term 2. This includes:

The learning program delivered on-site will be the same as the learning program delivered to students undertaking remote learning.

For students in Prep to Grade 2, St Louis de Montfort’s will provide daily learning programs that include the following:

  • Integrated inquiry, Religious Education and SEL 90 minutes

Weekly Schedule and Organisation

In order to access the Google Meet links for each class please refer to the following Guidelines:

  • Prep-1 - Each class teacher will send an email to families containing relevant links to learning
  • Year 2 - Each class teacher will send an email to families containing instructions of how their students will access learning via Google Classroom.  Students will need to use their @stlouisaspendale.com account.
  • Year 3-6 - Students will access learning and their Google Meets via their existing Google Classroom. Students will need to use their @stlouisaspendale.com account.
  • There will be no specialist program for the five days of lockdown. This will be reviewed if circumstances change.
  • Teachers will be available online from 8.45-12.45pm. This will include a recess break from 10.45 - 11.15am. During this time teachers will work with the whole class and scheduled small groups to deliver the curriculum.
  • From 12.45pm teachers will be given a lunch break, time to plan, opportunity to provide feedback and respond to emails from parents and students.

Online Tools

Students will be able to access the learning and teaching programs in the following ways:

  • Year 3-6 students will use their own 1:1 device.
  • Prep - Year 2 will have access to iPads within the school. These were made available for loan to those families who don’t have access to a device at home.
  • Years 2-6 will use existing Google Classroom as their mode of delivering synchronous (real time) and asynchronous (not in real time) learning to students.
  • Prep and Year 1 will use Seesaw in supporting the capture and delivery of learning during remote learning. A Google Meet link (Google Classroom) will be shared with parents for students to use for any morning meets, and instructional learning inputs

Whole Class Google Meets

Each morning the day will commence with prayer, communication, a brief overview for the day and marking attendance (15-20 minutes) with the classroom teacher. This will occur at 8.45am. If students are unable to attend we ask that the school is notified of their absence either by emailing the classroom teacher or by notifying the office.  All attendance will be recorded by 9.30 am, with a follow up phone call for any student who is not present by 9.30 am.

Explicit Teaching within the face to face virtual environment

Students will be working in literacy and numeracy focus groups within the virtual learning space on a daily basis. These groups will target students' next point of need. The explicit teaching group time frame is 15-20 minutes.

Learning Programs

The learning programs will include a variety of the following:

  • Teachers direct virtual interactions with students.
  • Personalised instructional videos by teachers of explicit teaching.
  • Google Slides that explain daily learning and provide a scaffold.
  • Links/references to other educational resources.
  • Differentiated learning to meet student needs.
  • Articulated learning intentions and success criteria.
  • Established feedback and assessment.
