English Captains

Congratulations to our new 2023 English Captains!

We are excited to announce that Wantirna College will have six English captains for 2023. These students are already great role models across the school, playing an active role in promoting reading, the Library, and the value of English studies to their peers.

We were encouraged to receive a great amount of applications for the English Captains roles this year, and would like to thank everybody who submitted an application. After shortlisting and interviewing some impressive candidates, we eventually decided to offer positions to six outstanding young leaders in our school community.

This year's English Captains are: 

Ruby Hogan, Year 7

Chloe Lindsay, Year 8

Layla Gordon, Year 9

Katherine Styles, Year 10

Sophie Berry, Year 10

Rachel Cameron, Year 11

Among other things, these Student Leaders will help promote English, Literacy and Library activities to the school community, including the Independent Reading Program, Resident Writers, Spelling Bee, workshops, Book Week, book clubs, curriculum nights, and open nights.

Congratulations to these students! We look forward to seeing what these students will achieve together throughout this year.
