Meetings are held every Thursday in the Mason House open area, anyone and everyone is welcome to come along, regardless of if you have a Leadership role or not.

Meet the SRC Executive Team

President: Milly Saffron

Greetings Wantirna! I’m Milly and this year I have the privilege to be President of the SRC. I’m currently in Year 10 and I am looking forward to meeting with all of our school leaders and getting some fun activities going throughout the year. I’m always happy to talk and would love to hear what you all think needs to be improved or changed at our SRC meetings. Have a great day everyone!

Publicity and Communications: Layla Gordan

Hey Wantirna! I'm Layla and I run the Publicity and Communications for the SRC Executive Team. A few things about me, I enjoy gardening, I play volleyball and I spend a lot of my free time reading, analysing books, or listening to music. I hope to see you all at future SRC meetings and have the chance to work with you.

Treasurer: Blake Mackenzie

Hello, I am Blake, and I am the Treasurer for the SRC and I have been in the SRC since Year 7. I usually spend my time either on the computer, playing trumpet or guitar, or even building and painting model aircraft. I hope to see you all at SRC meetings sometime in the near future - you don’t have to have any leadership positions to come and propose your ideas.

Secretary: Stephanie Bennett

Hey Wantirna, I'm Steph and I have been filling in for Maggie as SRC Secretary for the first term. Two things about me are that I play volleyball and I am a lead in Wantirna's Production of The Little mermaid this year. I am currently a Year 9 Captain and hope to plan many exciting things for my year level. You can usually find me at SRC meetings and fundraisers as well as in rehearsals. Hope everyone is having a great start to 2023!

Themed Dress Day

On a rather chilly Tuesday 7 March, the SRC hosted its first themed dress day for the year, with the theme being ‘Something that represents you’. This meant that students could wear something from their favourite sports team, band, hobby or interest.

Students were to bring a gold coin donation and could buy a Zooper Dooper. Purchasing a Zooper Dooper meant that students could then have a try at guessing the correct number of lollies in a jar during our lunchtime stall to raise funds for the SRC and our chosen charity, the Australian Red Cross.

Congratulations to the winners of the Lolly Jar Contest:

- Toby Scott, 8H

- Shanay Palmer, 7H

Thank you to the following amazing SRC volunteers who helped out with selling Zooper Doopers and lolly jar guesses on the day: Blake Mackenzie, Layla Gordon, Ritkriti Melam, Elissa Chen, Cindy Huang, Aiden Woodall and Dusty Lijnders!
