Term 1 Student Conferences

Tuesday 4 April - Onsite

On Thu 30 March at 3pm, the Term 1 Learning Behaviours Reports will be published on Compass and Student Conferences will be open for booking on Compass. Student Conference bookings will close Mon 3 April, 4pm.

Student Conferences will take place 12pm to 8pm on Tue 4 April and there will be no classes on this day. A list of teacher locations and school maps will be posted around the school.

Student Conferences are a three-way discussion between parents, students and teachers about learning behaviours, learning progress and future improvements. Teachers may share samples of student work and celebrate student achievements. For students in Years 7 to 10, parents will get to see our  Developmental Rubrics on Maestro which show each student's current learning progress and what the student is ready to learn next. Our Maths and English teachers will also present the rich sources of individual student data that can be found in the Data Dashboards in Maestro.

Parent Support for Maestro

Maestro accounts have been set up and invites sent out to all students and parents in Years 7-10. On Student Conference Day, parents are invited to visit the College Library for guidance, support and advice on how to Log In and use Maestro.

Year 9 & 10 Elevate

The Elevate Program runs on Wednesdays in Period 4 for Years 9 and 10 and students have nearly finished their sequence of Elevate lessons for Term 1. Each term, students will participate in different sequences of engaging, relevant and interactive lessons based around a key theme. The lessons have been specially designed to ELEVATE our students' critical, ethical and creative thinking skills and their problem solving and STEM skills. They aim to better prepare students for pathways, future studies and to develop respectful relationships with themselves and others.

Everyday Ethics: Navigating the world's many ethical dilemmas.

Year 10 Consent Education

On Monday 20 March, Year 10 students actively participated in a serious and very necessary talk on sexual consent. Consent education is part of the Respectful Relationships program and is covered at every year level. It is important our students understand their rights and responsibilities when it comes to consent in healthy relationships.

Australia has much work to do in this area with statistics showing that 17% of Australian women have experienced sexual assaults in their lifetime. Unfortunately, students of secondary school age are more likely than any other age groups to experience sexual violence. The sexual assault rate is higher for those aged 15-19 than any other group, and 60% of sexual assaults are accounted for by people 19 years and younger. Consent education seeks to protect students as much as possible by arming them with the facts and legalities in this area.
