Cyber Safety & Cyber Bullying

This year, we will be posting regular information and resources for parents and students in relation to Cyber Safety and Cyberbullying. Our aim is to educate parents and students on safe online behaviour, promoting digital citizenship, and implementing strategies to prevent and address Cyberbullying incidents.

According to eSafety research, “One in five young Australians aged 8 to 17 years reported being socially excluded, threatened or abused online” (2023, eSafety website). One in five young people also admitted to behaving in a negative way to their peers online. These statistics are quite concerning, and more education around the impacts of Cyberbullying is required.

Where Can I Find out More Information?

The eSafety website has a plethora of resources available for parents in different languages. They host online webinars for parents to educate themselves on important topics and the Term 2 webinars are listed in the attachment:

Next month we will take a closer look at what Cyberbullying is, and steps that can be taken to prevent and report it.
