Soiree Season
Last night, all Voice students performed in the Vocal Soiree - their first concert for the year and for some, their first concert ever!
Our Term 1 Soirees are informal events with for audiences made up of family and friends. Performers were well prepared, with some overcoming nerves to give their best over the course of the night. We heard a great variety of music from Year 7 through to Year 12, with senior students premiering pieces for their Mid Year and End of Year Recital programs. Soirees are such a great opportunity for our young performers to ‘cut their teeth’ on performing in a relaxed atmosphere.
In the next two weeks, students in the following Soirees to family and friends: Piano, Woodwind, Strings, Percussion, Bass and Guitar, and Brass.
Discovery Night
Our Symphonic Band will be performing at the two Information Sessions on Discovery Night (7pm & 8pm) with our Voice students providing Live entertainment in courtyard.
Outdoor Contemporary Concert
Our five Contemporary Bands are performing at lunch time on Tuesday and Thursday next week.
Staff Concert - A Triumph!
On Thursday 16 March our Instrumental Music Teachers, together with other talented Wantirna College staff, performed to a packed Theatre at our annual Staff Concert.
Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the show - we raised over $1000 towards the Performing Arts Programs. We'd also like to thank the dedicated tech crew who undertook the light, sound and Theatre prep. Thanks also to the Parents of Performing Arts for running front of house, and an extra special Thank You to our Principal, Mr Kevin Murphy, for doing an outstanding job as our MC.
For those who couldn't make it - we'll be back year! In the meantime, we hope you enjoy the photos of the event!
