GROW Awards

GROW Awards are being awarded weekly across the school this term. Each Grow Award is added to their faction’s overall tally. Students are striving to be the leading faction by the close of Week 9, so they can win the end-of-term Faction Reward.

Faction Captains from the winning faction will decide what the reward will be, which will be held in Week 10. Teachers will be looking for the expected behaviours and all students have an opportunity to contribute to their faction’s overall tally!

GROW Awards are linked to Burrendah’s 4 R’s; Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Reach. These behaviour expectations are taught and modelled through the PBS curriculum.

PBS Expectations

The PBS behaviour expectation for Week 7 is Respect. We show Respect by being kind and caring. We demonstrate this behaviour OUTSIDE when we include others during playtime.

This means

  • We share the areas we play in by inviting people to use the space.
  • We look out for those that have no one to play with.
  • We ask each other if they'd like to play with us at recess and lunch.

The PBS behaviour expectation for Week 8 is Responsibility. We show Responsibility by doing the right thing. We demonstrate this behaviour INSIDE when we are organised.

This means:

  • We follow our class morning routines.
  • We have a neat and tidy workspace.
  • We take home and return notes and payments on time.
