Art

We have had a great start to the year in art.

The F/1/2's have been working on and looking at primary and secondary colours. Students have learnt about the 3 primary colours of red, blue and yellow. We spoke about how if we mix two of these colours together we are able to make secondary colours like green, purple and oranage. We read the story 'Red Fish Blue Fish' then students used paint and mixed two primary colours together to make a secondary colour to paint the fish. We have used oil pastels and mixed two primary colours together to colour in a chameleon. They have been doing a great job and it has been really impressive to see the artworks students have been creating.

The 4/5/6's have been looking at cubism and how to can change the look of an image. Students have had a go at using textas to colour in their image as well as using pastels as well. The students commented that the pastels were a little bit harder but the artworks still looked just a go. We need to finish off the pictures and add a background but the students have done a really impressive job taking an abstract concept and creating a picture of a face. They have been working really hard and I have loved working with the students on their work.
