McKINNON VOLLEY UPDATE

Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) Pink Fundraiser

On Thursday 22 June, McKinnon Volley held a very Pink Volleyball Exhibition Match to raise money for the BCNA. Our Premier and Reserves1 State league girls were randomly selected to represent a team in the exhibition match of the highest quality. Thanks to everyone who attended and donated a gold coin, bought a cupcake/treat or pink socks/ribbons.

We appreciate Minja Zlatic and Arwen Verdnik who advertised and organised the event, as well as other club members who contributed their time and effort on the night. Through our amazing volleyball community we are proud to say that we raised just over $1000 going to the BCNA.

McKinnon Volleyball Athletes representing Victoria

On Friday 7 - Monday 10 July our McKinnon Volley athletes and coaches represented Victoria in the U19 and U23 Nationals Volleyball event.

Molly Forehan (Year 12) came 3rd in the U19 VIC team. Arwen Verdnik, Stephanie Baker and Zoe Fischer (all past students of McKinnon and currently our coaches) also came 3rd in the U23 VIC team. Well done ladies! (see photo below)

Volleyball upcoming events

The “3 Days Schools Cup” is coming up: Monday 24 July - Wednesday 26 July (Years 8, 11 & 12) and Wednesday 26 July - Friday 28 July (Years 7, 9 & 10) at Dandenong Stadium.
The “Big Three” Tournament with Eltham and Rowville is coming up, hosted by McKinnon, on Monday 7 August.
Presentation Night for all McKinnon Volley athletes and families on Thursday 24 August at the main School Hall.
