Friday Sport

Our Friday interhouse sport for year 5 and 6 will kick off this week, after being washed out last week. The students have been training hard and are ready to play tomorrow. Please remember students in year 5 and 6 are allowed to wear their house shirts on Friday for sport.  

 

Cross Country

Our school Cross Country will be on Thursday 20 April, week 1 of term 2. 

Students from year 3 - 6 will run in the age they are turning this calendar year. For students aged 10 - 12, the top 6 runners will qualify for the Oceanic Carnival on Wednesday 10 May and will run the following distances: 10yr – 2km, 11yr and 12yr- 3km.  

 

Students will run the following approximate distances at school for our Cross Country -

Prep year 1- Obstacle course around the oval

Year 2 1km (approx.) course

Year 3 (8 yr old) 1km

Year 3 and 4 (9yr old) 1.5km course

Year 4 and 5 (9 and 10yr old) 1.5km course

Year 5 and 6 (11-12 yr old) 2.5km course 

 

Oceanic Swimming

Congratulations to Blake, Isaac and Noah who qualified for the Oceanic Swimming team and will now compete at the South Coast Swimming Carnival on Tuesday 7 March. Good luck boys.   

 

Oceanic District Trials

This week our AFL students have been trialling at school to select our top players to go on to the district trials. Next week our netballers will be trialling. If your child has nominated themselves, please look out for a permission note coming home. Students must write their name down at the hall to nominate for these trials.

Sporting Achievements

Congratulations to Nash and Isaac who were both selected in the Oceanic basketball team and will now compete at the South Coast carnival. Good luck boys.

 

Congratulations to Halli on being selected in the Oceanic Cricket team. Halli competed at the South Coast carnival and played very well. Well done Halli. 

 

Congratulations to Blake who competed at the State Nipper titles and finished with a 3rd - Ironman. 1st - Swim teams, 1st - Cameron relay and 4th - Individual swim. Well done Blake.
