Wellbeing Celebrations

We are extremely proud of our Wellbeing Program at SMPS. We are delighted to say that we have strong connections with a number of Allied Health Professionals.

Lydia Keiffert (Speech Pathologist) works at SMPS for one day per week, in addition to supporting a number of our students with 1:1 sessions throughout the week through their NDIS funding. If you would like to connect your child with a Speech Pathologist, we highly recommend Lydia:

We also work closely with Emma Oliphant of PWA Rehab (Occupational Therapist). Emma has a wealth of knowledge on how to support students reach their individual goals and develop their daily living skills.

SMPS are also developing connections with local psychologists to enable families to get support more easily. Watch this space!

Wellbeing Intervention Groups:

Miss Daniella runs Elevate, a much-loved social and emotional intervention group. In 2023, Miss D has started to run the Social Stencil program, developed by psychologist  Connie Buckingham. Social Stencil is an evidence-based program designed for Australian children that sequentially teaches Social Information Processing Skills (SIP), supporting young people to develop friendships, manage conflict, and regulate emotions and behaviour to build life-shaping social competencies and capabilities.

Mr Sam has been running a recess and lunch social group. This dynamic group changes termly to best suit the needs our wonderful students. Mr Sam's group has supported many of our students to make connections, build friendships and feel also calm at recess and lunch times.
