Careers At Frankston High School

Careers education is more important than it has ever been and we have a number of resources designed to support students to develop the career management tools that will help them investigate and explore the careers landscape as they begin to make subject and pathway choices.
Did you know? Technology and globalisation are changing our economy and the jobs market at an unprecedented rate. The era of mastering one skillset for one career over a lifetime is in decline. Careers are much less likely to follow a straight line — indeed, experts have suggested that Australians will change employers 17 times across five different careers during their working life.
Our students are working towards making their first choice as they complete their secondary schooling. To do this they need to develop their career management skills to navigate the world of work.
Morrisby Online Vocational Assessment Tool
Our Year 9 students have completed the Morrisby Online vocational test to help guide them to think about their future.
Morrisby can help in a number of ways, including:
- Self-discovery helps students understand themselves and the sort of options that will suit them.
- When a student doesn’t know which subjects to pick, Morrisby’s study suggestions will give ideas.
- Ensuring subject choices keep doors open.
- When there is a concern that student’s desired career or study choices might not suit them then Morrisby’s impartiality and objectivity helps with the decision making.
- Boosting motivation by providing a career goal and what is required to achieve it.
The Victorian government has funded the Morrisby Online test for our Year 9 students.
If your child is not in Year 9 and you would like your child to complete the Morrisby Online test you can visit their website and purchase a Morrisby Pass Code. Once the test is completed you can call or email Morrisby and book a Skype careers consultation.

The aim of the website is to provide students with access to career development tools, such as the subject career targets. It also provides the latest information to help students to make pathway decisions as they progress through our school and beyond the school gate. Career newsletters are added and highlight up-to-date opportunities that may be of interest to students. The drop down menus also provide links to a range of different resources, including a calendar of events and upcoming open days, and much, much more.
Students can use this site to locate University, TAFE and any other type of course across Australia, get information about VCE and much more.
This website is definitely worth visiting.
