Principal's Report

Report from our Principal: Duncan Arendse

Dear Parents, Friends and Father Arsenio,

As we prepare for the most important date on the Christian calendar I would like to again remind you of our students learnings in the past few weeks. They have been learning that for Christians, Easter Sunday marks the day when Jesus rose from the dead, symbolizing the renewal of faith and providing hope for eternal life. In amongst the celebrations of Easter I hope you have the time to pause and reflect  and use the time to give thanks.

I have great pleasure in announcing the appointment of Chizu Mukaigawara to our staff. She has been appointed to teach Japanese at our school. I expect her to begin at our school after 15 May next term.

I am most grateful to the staff who have enabled our Canberra Camp to occur. As you can imagine the logistics for taking 131 people to Canberra and back is no small feat. This has been headed up be Caeleigh and Kayla and a great team. Thank you to all involved.

Next term we welcome back Judy (Smith) our deputy from long service leave. Thank you to Kayla and Katherine who stepped up to fill some important shoes in Judy's absence.

Just a quick reminder about our recent (P&F and fete) fundraising. Each of these is voluntary and everyone has a choice to participate or donate. Our P&F led by Lauren Cefai has been wonderful to work with assisting in streamlining activities and prioritising as well. Our fete committee led by Adam Stone donate a substantial amount each year to our school for which I am grateful. They both ease the financial burdens considerably as a result. I also work with them to ensure the bulk of their funds are channeled directly to our students. I thank both for their great work.

Please remember that school returns on Monday 24th April. I look forward to seeing you all then. In the meantime I wish you a happy, holy and safe Easter and break.

Have a good fortnight,

Duncan
