Interschool Sport
It has been a big start to the year with plenty of interschool sport events!
The term 1 Darebin Division sport options are: Swimming, Volleyball, Cricket and Tennis.
Darebin Division Swimming Carnival
The carnival was held at Fitzroy Swimming Pool on Tuesday March 7.
We had 21 swimmers compete in a range of individual and relay events. Well done to all our swimmers that competed very strongly. Congratulations to the following students that won their races and have advanced through to the Northern Metro Regional Swimming Carnival: Alex Berman (Y7), Alasdair Leith (Y8), Tri Tran (Y9), 14 age group boys 4x50m relay team (Thomas Bridgewater, Hieu Nguyen, Logan Nitschke, Christian Kodagoda).
They will compete on Wednesday March 29 at WaterMarc, Greensborough.
Volleyball
Event days have now been held for the Year 11/12 & Year 7 Volleyball teams. Special mention to the Year 7 girls team that won their event day! They will now advance through to the NMR finals scheduled for early in term 4.
Tennis
Our Year 9/10 tennis teams had their first look at the impressive new venue for Darebin Division tennis - Oak Park Tennis Club. Both teams acquitted themselves exceptionally well. Our boys team advanced through to the grand final but were defeated by Northcote HS.
Cricket
We have had strong representation from all of our teams that have played cricket so far at their respective event days. The Year 7&8 combined girls team got to play in the new SSV format of Cricket Australia Stage 2 Junior Formats. This involves 9 players on a team playing on an 18 metre pitch.
