Principal's Report

Voice to Parliament

Three of our THS School Captains, Alli, Ruby, and Sally recently accompanied me to a morning tea held by Ged Kearney, Federal Member for Cooper, for an information and Q&A session on the Voice to Parliament. This event was attended by student leaders from a range of schools in our area, and Alli, Ruby, and Sally represented THS with distinction. The event concluded with a reading of the Uluru Statement from the Heart, which Alli read to all those assembled as one of two First Nations students present. It was a very moving moment.

International Women’s Day

As I write this we are in the midst of activities celebrating International Women’s Day, wonderfully organised by our Student Representative Council and Student Leadership Coordinator Bec Perkin.

Year 7 Camp

The recent Year 7 Camp was very well attended and students enjoyed all the adventure and water-based activities and camp life in general, supported by the Year 7 team, staff and Year 10 Peer Support leaders.

Year 8 Medieval Day

This annual Humanities event was a success yet again, with students engaging in practical hands-on learning activities that support their studies of the middle ages. Well done to Ms Shields, Head of Humanities and her team for all their organisation.
