Parents and Friends Club 

LADIES LUNCHEON 

On Friday we hosted our very first OGPS Ladies Luncheon at the wonderful Ocean Grove Surf Club (what a venue). With just over 60 of our fabulous mum’s taking up the invite for an afternoon of great company, delicious food and lots of bubbles, belly laughs and wonderful prizes, because let's face it - we all deserve to be treated once in a while. 

It was also a special welcome to our Foundation mums who are new to the school community, and really the first main event for a lot of grade 1 and 2 mums who spent the first couple of years at school…at home. We think across the two years, it was only about 8 months spent in the classroom, and we weren’t even allowed on the school grounds, let alone get together like this.

We have been so overwhelmed with the feedback and so excited that you all cannot wait for it to roll around again next year!

A big thanks to Adele, Steph, Pip, Sarah & Ebony for helping pull the day together and volunteering their time. Also, thanks to Mrs H for joining us for lunch - we all agreed she was looking absolutely fabulous on the day and definitely took home the best dressed award. 

We would like to thank all the amazing local businesses for their donations; allowing us to spoil some of our mums.  Ian Pattison Jewelers, Ocean Rental Boutique, Pier St, Utopia Salon, Pinch Salt & Float, Fit as Fx, The Woods, Groove, Napona and Nuray Reflexology. 

Finally, we supported the charity, Share the Dignity on the day. They are doing something really simple, but so critical; distributing tampons and pads to women in Australia who are homeless, fleeing domestic violence or who simply can’t afford them. Imagine being in one of those situations. The last thing on your mind would be dealing with your period but nevertheless, it’s there, and having access to these free products is the difference between feeling powerless and undignified, to at least starting each day feeling physically comfortable and with one less problem to deal with. Thank you for all your donations, the basket was overflowing! 

I think it’s a given… We will be back bigger and better in 2023!

DADS DAY OUT - SEPTEMBER 

We are planning a Dad’s Day Out event to celebrate the Dads of OGPS for Father’s Day. Stay tuned for more information…

SCHOOL CANTEEN 

The Canteen committee has been working with Groove Cafe, who are more than happy to be our ongoing supplier of weekly lunch orders (YAY). We have everything we need to send off our proposal to the School Council for approval, including a fancy new online ordering app. 

PARENTS SOCIAL NIGHT - OCTOBER 

We are so excited to welcome back a parent's social event! Again parents have been eager to volunteer to help create a fun night out for our mums and dads.
