Rapid Antigen Tests

Rapid Antigen Tests will continue to be distributed, as they have been throughout this school year, for the remainder of this term.
Students are no longer recommended to undertake twice weekly RATs in mainstream schools.
RATs will continue to be required by students who are household contacts to attend school (5 negative tests over a 7 days period) or who have symptoms.
The ongoing supply of RATs to families in our school will ensure that parents and carers will have them should they need them, if their child is a household contact or has symptoms.

Confirmed cases of Covid-19

If a student tests positive to COVID-19 (via a PCR or rapid antigen test), parents/carers should complete the form on the Department of Health system or via the coronavirus hotline on 1800 675 398.
Students (or their parents/carers) must also report a positive result to the school, either through the VicEd COVID portal or by phone on 5945 1433 or written notification; this is to ensure the school can support the student, record that they will be absent while in 7 day isolation, and let the rest of the school community know there has been a positive case onsite and that they should monitor for symptoms.
Students who report a positive result must isolate for seven days and not attend school during that period.
Students are to refrain from returning to school if they remain symptomatic, unless it is known that their symptoms are caused by an underlying health condition or medication.

Household Contacts

Students who are household contacts of a positive case (that is, they have spent more than four hours with someone who has COVID-19 inside a house, accommodation, or care facility), are no longer required to quarantine. They can return to school as long as they undertake rapid antigen tests (RAT) 5 times within their 7-day period and wear face masks indoors, unless they have a valid exemption.
If any household contact returns a positive RAT result during this period, they must isolate for 7 days and not attend school.

Screening Requirements

Students and staff who have tested positive for Covid-19, and have completed their 7-day isolation period, now do not need to undertake rapid antigen test (RAT) screening for 12 weeks after their release from isolation. This was previously 8 weeks.

Face Masks

Face masks, while recommended, are not required in any school setting. Any student or staff member who wishes to wear a mask may do so, including those who are medically at-risk.

Vaccination requirements for Visitors to schools

Parents, carers and other adult visitors (not performing work) who enter school buildings, are no longer required to show evidence of two doses of Covid-19 vaccine.

As we approach winter and flu season, the vaccination of children and booster shots for students over 16 years old, remain the best way to ensure protection for students and staff.
To keep students and staff safe from Covid-19 as we move towards the winter months, we have a total of 107 purifiers distributed around the school.
