First Nations Corner & Victorian State School Spectacular 2022

Friday 6th May we had our second regional Victorian State School Spectacular mass dance rehearsal for 2022. This was a big day as the girls were to learn the endings of six different dances. The girls were fantastic and for the entire rehearsal had smiles on their faces. They represented Woodmans Hill SC perfectly. The girls will now keep practising at school during lunchtimes and we look forward to our next rehearsal in June where we will be taught our seventh and final dance. 

Next Gen 2022 Year 8 Visual Arts Excursion

After many months of being unable to go on excursions, the year 8 Visual Arts Academy finished off term 1 by visiting the Ballarat Fine Art Gallery. We had the honour of seeing not only high achieving artworks of VCE students from last year, but also being able to view the folios and design work.

After the viewing students explored the permanent collection and chose favourite artworks to discuss.

We then explored the gift shop, which is full of handmade items from local artisans, and students discussed and drew inspiration from creatures by local artist Suzanne McCrae. Students are currently designing their own spirit animals and they found the excursion very rewarding and inspiring.
