A message from our Principal
Dear St. Brendan's School Community,
We have had a very busy last two weeks at School.
From Tuesday 10th May to Thursday, 12th May Naplan Assessments were undertaken online by Years 3 and 5. Year 3 students only did a paper test for Writing.
Many thanks to Dave Maskell for all his work in making sure all laptops were set up and for his organisation.
Thanks to Year 3/5 teachers for all their supervision and organisation of work for all Year 4 and Year 6 students.
Thanks to all our students that completed the Assessments. It was done very calmly and students tried their best.
St. Brendan's Feast Day
As the rain fell on Friday 13th May, we postponed our Fun Run for our Feast Day until Monday, 16th May.
This turned out very well, with this being the official St. Brendan's Feast Day and the sun was shining. 'St. Brendan' made a visit to our school, much to the delight of the children.
The Fun Run was well organised. Many thanks to Jacklyn Lamb for all the P&F's work and organisation.
Thanks to Josh Wild (PE Teacher), Anthony Andronaco and the Wellbeing Team for setting up the obstacles for the course.
Thanks to Parents and Friends for the fruit for the children and the children enjoyed the icy poles.
Thanks to the sponsors of this event. A great day was had by all.
Welcome Back
We welcome Nick Iorianni, Teacher who starts working with us this coming Monday, 23rd May.
Nick will work with children in Numeracy, support teachers in Assessments, and take Science one day per week.
We look forward to Nick being part of our Staff.
Illness
We have had many students and staff sick. We have had cases of COVID, but also a flu virus as well. Please keep your child home if they are unwell as this virus is spreading very quickly.
Thanks to all teachers that have helped out in classrooms to ensure all classes can continue.
Thankyou to parents for your understanding.
Congratulations
St Brendan's wishes to congratulate former student and soccer player, Alou Kuol on his recent selection in the Australian under 23 side, playing in the AFC Asian Cup in Uzbekistan.
Alou's brothers currently attend St Brendan's, so we send our best wishes to the Kuol family on this amazing achievement.
Open Day
We had our Open Day yesterday and we were very happy with the number of parents that attended.
Many thanks to our Year 6 Tour Guides;
Matthew Koko, Deng Kuol, Chiara Mori, Charlie Phelan, David Shi, Jett Ahmat-Makar, Abel Chandler, Miller Dodds, Taha Haroon, Matt Luvara, Samuel Ndisa, Jye Redman, Kalondra Simpson-Honey, Ava-Jae Singh, Grace Ogilvie and Husan Sur.
The children were wonderful in explaining our school to the parents.
Yours sincerely,
Paula.
