‘Enlighten for Equity Sculptures’

Wagga schools, including five Kildare students, were invited to the official unveiling of the Enlighten for Equity Sculptures, which was attended by Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC (Governor of NSW), the Mayor of Wagga, Cr Dallas Tout, and other dignitaries.

In 2020, the Equity team of DV Project 2650 Councils collaborated with the community to create a project based on EQUITY and RESPECT. The design brief was to create dynamic, interactive, and meaningful lighting works as well as industrial design for long-term installation that reflected equity and respect.

Congratulations to our students Jakob Krause, Jacob Hastie, Jack Smith, Finn Jones, and Luke Maynard, whose design sculpture is installed at the entrance of the precinct as WWCC said that it summed up the whole purpose of the precinct so well. "A place of meeting, encompassing life, the Wiradjuri culture and our community".

The five sculptures selected form an equity walk within the Wagga Beach Riverside Precinct, winding along pathways to the new regionally significant playground and through open areas for the community to enjoy and reflect upon for years to come.

For the TAS staff, parents, and the entire Kildare community, it was a proud moment.

What an incredible achievement for our young creators!
