Secondary Community News

LOWER SECONDARY

Weeks 5 and 6 has seen the 7/8 students working on the preparation for the upcoming Winter Fete in week 8. Students have contributed their ideas on what they would like to see being sold and each class has decided on what they will sell at their class stall. The 7/8’s are super excited to start creating their stalls and are looking forward to friends and family coming to see all their hard work.

We had to make the hard decision of calling off our Travel Training excursion to the Queen Victoria Market due to the winter weather. Instead, we held our own mini market day in the 7/8 building where students learned about the importance of goods and services as well as employability skills. Each classroom held their own session about different aspects of the market and what we would have learned if we had of attended.

The students have plunged headfirst into assessment week and the 7/8 teachers are so proud of the hard work the students have put in!

Lastly, 2 of the 7/8 classes ran their own election, voting in a Premier and Prime Minister. Congratulations to our teacher Prime Minister Paul and our ES Premier Soumya!

UPPER SECONDARY

This term the year 9/10s are running a business. Our business is called Hungry Jackson. We are running a delivery and a dine in experience for staff every Wednesday. The marketing team have created a website which shows our menu, a feedback form, and photos. Feel free to check it out: Home | Hungry Jackson (square.site)

“My open toasted sandwich was really yummy. I liked how the Hungry Jackson staff were well presented. Their clothes were clean and their hands were clean. They looked happy and spoke with respect. Thank you Hungry Jackson. I look forward to my soup next Wednesday. Hope you all have a great week” – Liz Ngawati, Education Support 7/8C.
