WORK EXPERIENCE

My work placement was held at Benetook Veterinary Clinic. I have always loved animals, and being a vet seemed to be the most interesting career to me. While I was there, I got to watch various procedures and surgeries, clean the cages and surgical equipment, and I got to learn a lot about what different equipment and techniques are used to complete a procedure. After the program, I have decided that being a vet is still my main career goal. I highly recommend the work experience program so students can get a taste of what a career they are interested in actually involves.

My work experience placement was at DHM Partners, an accounting firm which specialises in tax. I chose this employer as that was a place recommended to me by Ms Dimasi. I was hoping and did learn a wealth of knowledge on taxation laws. Work experience did meet my expectations as I was welcomed as one of their own. I would recommend that students do participate in the work experience program as it allows for the assurance of a student to determine what field they would like to go into for their future, it certainly helped me and has reinforced my decision to head into accounting.
