THINGS TO KNOW

REMINDER - ANNUAL REPORT PRESENTATION TO SCHOOL COMMUNITY NEXT TUESDAY EVENING

The Annual Report provides principals and school councils with an opportunity to share last year’s achievements and progress with the school community. This includes reflecting on the school’s performance and explaining the positive impact of school improvement efforts on student outcomes in 2021.

We invite all members of the school community to attend this presentation prior to the School Council meeting in late May.

Date: Tuesday 24 May

Time: 6:15 pm

Place: Staffroom

Attendance: Please indicate your attendance on the following Google form.

RAPID ANTIGEN TESTING UPDATES

We will continue to distribute RATs for remainder of this term.

From Monday 23 May, it is recommended RATs are used by students and staff when symptomatic. RATs are also required to be used for 5 days if a student or staff member is a close contact of a confirmed case and they are attending or working at a school. The staff member and any child over 8 years of age must wear a mask for the five days.

It will therefore no longer be recommended that non-symptomatic students or staff conduct RATs twice a week in mainstream schools.

Students and staff must continue to notify the Department of Health and our school if they return a positive RAT result.

Vaccination remains the best way to protect students and staff in school settings and your ongoing support in encouraging children aged 5 to 11 to get vaccinated.

Face masks also can continue to be used by any staff or students who wish to do so, including those who are medically at-risk.

ENROLMENTS OPEN FOR 2023

Let’s spread the good word and let our neighbours know 'why our little school is such a big hit'. We welcome prospective families to peruse our website and book a school tour.

Our tour schedule is available for the entire year, whether booking a group tour or a private tour with the principal.

We have already started planning a range of activities with our local kinders. This term our teachers will present an information session to support a successful start in Foundation 2023 at RPS.

All future families are welcome, so please use this flyer to share with friends and families in our local community who might have a child starting school in 2023 or beyond.

To our existing families who have children starting school next year, please collect your enrolment form from Jac in the office or alternatively download one off the website.

SEESAW CURRICULUM & YEAR LEVEL UPDATES

We often receive feedback from our families expressing a desire to know and understand what their children are learning across specific areas of the curriculum. Each fortnight our teaching teams launch a fortnightly blog/news blast or mini newsletter via Seesaw that highlights specific learning in literacy, numeracy, personal and social capabilities as well as inquiry-based concepts.

Please take the opportunity to read these fortnightly updates to develop a better understanding of how we continue to build the skills and knowledge of our students across the curriculum.  This Friday we release the first curriculum update of the term.

Samples from last term if you missed these.
