Principal News

Dear Parents, Students and Friends,

This week we farewelled Year 12! We celebrated their various successes and their strong connection to our core values of Faith, Learning, Stewardship, Care and Service. This year group has excelled in a wide range of pursuits from their great scholarly achievements, to their cultural pursuits of performance and music through to sport. They possessed a real passion for social justice, asking the ‘why’ questions and supporting others both within and outside of their year group, they will leave a legacy to be admired.

My thanks go to everyone involved at the College for helping to organise such a memorable week for the students. I also wish to thank our Marian staff, who have all contributed to the student’s journey with us. Whether it be in their capacity as classroom teachers, both junior and senior, coaches, mentors, office staff, librarians, Teacher Assistants or maintenance staff, everyone has added to the rich tapestry of your time here. Their dedication, to not only the students’ education, but also their formation as people has been tireless.  The Year 12 Pastoral Coordinator Kelly Centofanti deserves special recognition for her care and consideration in guiding these students.

Numerous staff will be conducting tutorials for Year 12 over the holiday break, to further support Year 12 in their revision for the HSC.  I am indebted to each of them for the dedication to our students.

During the Final Assembly the College, leaders for 2020 were announced. Our new College Captains are Aribo Kaibwa and Darian Le Cornu and our College Vice Captains are Julia Forner and Samuel McRae.

We wish these students all the best on their leadership journey, I have no doubt that the Student Leadership team is in good hands. We will celebrate the induction of our full student leadership team for 2020 on the 16th October in our College Hall.

Once again, Marian Catholic College is entering a sculpture in the REAL JUICE COMPANY CITRUS SCULPTURES 13 - 27 October during the 2019 Griffith Festival of Gardens. We encourage you to join us at 7:30am on the 13th of October to create our MCC sculpture on Banna Avenue.

Finally, a reminder to all students and families that Term 4 commences on Monday 14th October. All students are to be in Summer uniform and hats are to be worn when participating in outdoor activities.

I wish everyone a peace filled, happy and safe Spring Term vacation.

Peace and Best Wishes
