Sickbay

Oral Medication for Students

All prescribed medication should be provided to the School Office in a bag or container with name of student. A Medication Authority Form, obtained from the office or downloaded from our school website, advising the dose and time to be given should also be provided.

Medication will then be stored in a locked cupboard and accessed by the first aid officer or staff member when required by students. Students are not to carry medication in their bags.

Please note that the First Aid Room does not provide analgesics (i.e. paracetamol, aspirin, ibuprofen etc). Analgesics will only be dispersed to students if they are provided by parents/guardians as above.

These instructions are in accordance with the Department of Education and Training – First Aid Policy.

Thank you

A big thank you to all the families who donated clothes to the sick bay.

We now have sufficient items of clothing and no longer require any more.

Thank you again for your generous assistance.

Kind Regards,

Liliane Karidis

First Aid Officer

CareMonkey

As you know we take the health and safety of our students very seriously. As such we have adopted a health, safety and electronic system named CareMonkey.

CareMonkey is an electronic version of the paper based forms you used to fill in for excursions, camps, enrolments, etc. CareMonkey allows you the opportunity to update medical information promptly and accurately. It provides the school with instant access to the emergency information entered by you. We use the CareMonkey system in the best interest of the children, whilst reducing the burden on you to fill out the same information on multiple forms throughout the year.

You can use a PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone to enter the details including:

  • Emergency contacts
  • Medical contacts
  • Medical checklist including asthma, allergies, seizures, diabetes
  • Health and ambulance insurance details
  • Notes and other care instructions from you
  • And more….

As a parent/guardian you will receive an email to join CareMonkey and enter details for your child/children. By following the instructions, you can create your own free CareMonkey account and control all data about your child/children. The CareMonkey system stores the information on your behalf and you will be able to grant (or deny) access to your data with Kingswood. You are also able to share this data with any other group or individual you choose (eg: child’s grandparents, child-minder, sporting clubs, etc).

From the school’s perspective, this information will only be visible by relevant staff for your child and will be managed in accordance with the Privacy Act.

Please feel free to contact the school if you have any questions. You can also visit the CareMonkey website for more information: www.caremonkey.com

We appreciate your assistance.
