Year 3/4 Teacher
This term the 3/4 students have been writing poetry. We wrote Haiku, Diamante, Quatrain and Opposite Poems. On Wednesday students had a chance to share their work in a poetry slam. It was a lot of fun for both the teachers and students. Congratulations to everyone who read their poems. A special mention to the crowd favourites: Kai, Kayla, Ashton, Ben , Jay-Keane and Mrs Taylor

Hiding in the tree’s,
Are the hairy monkeys.
Orangutans they’re called,
The opposite of bald.
They’re one of two types of apes,
And may like eating grapes.
They love a banana,
But aren’t so keen on kabana.
Swinging in the trees,
Enjoying the gentle breeze.
Energy is always ready,
After a nap with his teddy.

Lost for good
If I could
Find my hat,
No matter what
All hope is gone.
I want to find it
At all costs.
Is it here?
Or, is it there?
It could just about
Be anywhere!

Smiles come from the words that are said,
That will stay in your heart, until you’re dead,
But other things will also stay,
Mean words, but whoever says it will pay.
Because they will never be kind,
This is something you will find,
When you grow up, living in a big city,
And all they’ll be, is a big pity.
So don’t worry,
They’ll be sorry?
