SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION
Congratulations to the Year 3 students who made their First Reconciliation on Tuesday 21st March at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Middle Park and Wednesday 22nd March at Ss. Peter and Paul, South Melbourne. Reconciliation is an opportunity for students in Year 3 to continue to build their own faith development and understanding of forgiveness as Catholics and global citizens.
HOLY WEEK ASSEMBLY
On Wednesday 29th of March at 2.40pm students from Prep to Year 6 will re-enact the events of Holy Week in a Liturgy at Galilee. More information about the liturgy will be sent home soon. If you are able to join us for this special event, we would love to see you.
LENT
As we journey through Lent let us keep Christ at the heart of all our words and actions. Let us focus our lives more clearly on walking in the way of Christ and living the Christian life.
During the Lenten period Galilee is focusing on Project Compassion, the Social Justice Program supported by Caritas Australia. During Lent we encourage students do something extra that helps them to become closer to God. Some of our senior students have been invited to ‘give up’ something for Lent. We also ask that those who can, make a donation to Project Compassion which raises much needed funds for those in need. Each classroom has a Project Compassion box on the prayer table where donated money can be placed. Students have the opportunity to hear the stories of children and adults less fortunate than themselves through videos and websites provided by Caritas. These opportunities allow us to make the connection with our donated money, to a much wider, global cause.

SACRAMENT OF FIRST EUCHARIST
Many of our Year Four students are preparing to receive the Sacrament of Eucharist for the first time this year. Formal preparation will begin next term.
If you are wanting to your child to participate in the Sacramental Program at Ss. Peter and Paul Parish, South Melbourne or the Parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Middle Park and St. Joseph's, Port Melbourne this year, please complete an enrolment form and hand it into the Parish Office at your earliest convenience.
