Principal's message

Last week the Chinese New Year celebrations commenced and we have been celebrating this in the school as well. Gong hei fat choy! We hope that we will be able to continue to celebrate this when we return to onsite learning.

Please remember that Friday is a pupil free day as per our school calendar. Classes do not run as our teaching staff will be engaging in professional learning.

It is such great news to hear that schools returned to onsite learning on Thursday 18 February. The wearing of masks has never been more important and this is why the Victorian Premier, Daniel Andrews, has advised that face masks be on when indoors and outdoors until it is considered safe to adjust this measure. Therefore, students will be expected to wear their masks throughout day unless social distancing guidelines can be implemented. Of course, students with a lawful exemption are the exception but parents will be required to make contact with the relevant Student Manager to let them know what the lawful exemption is.

I would like to thank our teachers for adjusting their teaching program to be an online program at such short notice last Friday. Those parents who were with us last year will remember that our teachers remained online and available to their students throughout the period of remote learning. This time was no exception. Our teachers quickly slipped back into online collaboration with their teaching teams to adjust the class activities to suit the online environment. They also introduced new students to the college to Google Classroom so that they were able to continue their learning.
