NAPLAN Online - Years 3 & 5

This year, the NAPLAN testing window is Tuesday 11th May to Friday 21st May (Term 2 Weeks 4 & 5).  During this time students in Years 3 and 5 will complete the following online assessments:

1. Writing (paper for Year 3 only)
2. Reading
3. Conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation)
4. Numeracy

Next week, Years 3 and 5 students will participate in an online practice test.  The practice test consists of a selection of sample reading, conventions of language and numeracy questions.  Year 5 will also complete a practice writing test.  The purpose of the practice test is to ensure our technology infrastructure is sound and to troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise. It also gives students a ‘heads-up’ on the NAPLAN Online platform and the types of questions that may be asked.  Schools and parents do not receive individual students results from the Practice Test.

I encourage all parents of students in Years 3 and 5 to explore the Public Demonstration Site with your child (click on button below).  Here you will find sample questions for each of the areas assessed.
