ACA Coaching Clinic
A number of cricketers from Armidale Secondary College attended a coaching clinic run by the Australian Cricketer's Association (ACA) who were visiting the region to play a number of promotional games.
The ACA comprises of past and present players from state and national teams and included players such as Mel Jones, Wayne Holdsworth, Dan Smith and Josh Lalor. Students received one-on-one coaching tips and were able to share with experiences of professional cricketers.
The clinic was the first event held at the new Armidale Indoor Cricket facility at the Sportsground. ASC would like to thank the Association for their support.
Cricket is wrapping up for the season but keep an eye out for exciting opportunities in Term 3 in preparation for the new season in Term 4.

NSW Combined High School Open Girls Cricket
Sophie Parsons (Year 8) represented the North West School Sports Association at the recent state carnival held in Bathurst. Although North West didn't have the most successful carnival, from all reports the team had a great time building their skills and enjoying the social experience.
Sophie has previously represented NSW at PSSA level. It is a fantastic opportunity for a student in Year 8 to compete with 17 and 18 year old girls. Sophie is a potential star of the future so keep your eye out for her!

Touch Football
Last Thursday ASC students had a great day in Inverell trialling for the Under 15s New England Zone touch teams. All students put in an excellent effort in hot conditions.
A big congratulations to Keandre Johnson-Vale for being selected in the Zone team, and Masie, Sara and Paige who all made it through to the second stage of girls trials.
Congratulations to all players for a great effort in representing ASC and thanks to Skye Gordon Briggs, Sam Brown and Lou Drielsma for taking the team.

ASC Saturday Netball Club
Registrations are now open for 2021, with all past and new members most welcome! Registrations should be made online under ASC and the sporting voucher can be used.
We had a very successful season last year, finishing with the Club Trophy as ADNC's #1 netball club with two championship teams!
New parents are also encouraged to support the team by joining the ASC Netball Club Committee.
