Visual & Performing Arts @ GEC

Performing Arts Captain

Hi! Nice to meet you! My name is Kitana and I'm your Senior Performing Arts Captain this year. I haven't been in GEC for long but it's been a blast! Becoming performing arts captain is a big step for me and I already enjoy what I've been doing for it.

I'm currently in Year 12 and my favorite subjects are Music and Japanese. Along with those subjects I also do theatre studies. I absolutely love to sing, dance and perform. I've been performing little by little since I was in primary school. But as I grew I did more.  As someone who is slightly shy, I understand people who have this passion as well and are afraid to step forward. So as performing arts captain I would really love to help those people bring themselves to do what they love regardless of their fears, even just the smallest steps.

And of course we have the school production Freaky Friday, maybe you've heard of it? It's one of Disney's musicals, I'm ready for it. l am excited as it will be my first production at GEC. Our team is trying their best to make it the best it can be. Dates for it will be officially released soon, it'll be in the middle of the year so please look forward to it! And that's all I have to say!! I hope everyone has a great morning/afternoon or night!!

Year 8 Still Life Drawings

The Year 8s explored positive and negative space through still life drawings. The students learned to create a contour line drawing from observation and then apply ‘Zentangle’ patterns to the background.
