ALARM @ Cecil
Year 11 and Year 12 students have had introductory lessons on ALARM. ALARM is a learning and responding matrix. ALARM is a powerful tool that helps improve literacy and assists students with composing written responses for assessment tasks and exams.
By using the ALARM scaffold, students are guided to compose more sophisticated written responses that will help them progress from a Band 4 or 5 to a Band 6. The lesson involved students matching the NESA key verbs and the placing them in the order of complexity.
The next activity saw each student receive a “favourite” chocolate and evaluate the most delicious chocolate. What do you think is a flake the most delicious chocolate or a crunchie?
