Sport in 2022
Well, here we are once again, back to sport in 2022.
Coming up fast we have our swimming and athletics sports (dress up and participate!) and then we are straight into senior and Year 7 round robins. The fun never stops!
Year 7 students have been spoken to about how to sign up and try out for sports, but if they need any help, please speak with either Ross Purcell or Luke Gazzola, heads of sport, who can help them on their way. Alternatively, have a chat with your house leaders - they will point you in the right direction.
Over the Christmas holidays a number of students will have participated in Nationals or events at various levels. We love to celebrate these, so if you achieved some major milestones, let us know! Congratulations go out to the Wilson sisters (Eva and Freya) who competed at state championships in athletics. Eva placed 3 in the U18 hammer throw - an excellent effort when you learn she only JUST turned 15!
Freya also placed third in the U16 hammer - also amazing as she is only 13!
If you have competed in anything big recently, let us know so we can let the whole community know. Your achievements should be celebrated!
Looking forward to bringing you more information and results as they come to pass.
Until then… GET OUTSIDE AND PLAY!
College Sports Carnivals
Tuesday 15th & Monday 21st February
The College will conduct its annual Sports Carnivals as follows:
House Swimming Carnival |
---|
Tuesday 15th February, 2022 |
Boroondara Sports Complex |
Belmore Road, Balwyn North |
House Athletics Carnival |
---|
Monday 21st February, 2022 |
Meadowglen International Athletics Stadium |

Consent for whole school events is given on enrolment, so you will not need to action anything on compass.
Both the pool and athletics track are outdoors, so please ensure your child/children bring sunscreen and other suitable sun protection, such as a hat, preferably in house colours, protective clothing and plenty of fluids for the day.
All students are expected to attend the Carnivals and be aware of the following arrangements:
- Students will report to their Home Group at 9.00am, ready to leave by bus by 9.15am
- All students are encouraged to wear their House colours to support their House
- Canteens at both venues will operate throughout the day, but best to BYO lunch, snacks and drinks as there were huge waits in the queue last time
At the conclusion of the day, approximately 2.15pm, students will board the buses in their Home Groups.
Programs for the day’s events will be available at the College Office.
Additional activities such as dive bomb competition, bocce, fashions on the field and others will be offered on the day alongside traditional swimming and athletic events.
Due to Covid restrictions both venues have requested that parents do NOT attend.
Please be advised that no body paint is to be worn (this is the bus company directive) and masks must be worn on the bus.
