New Arrivals
February Titles from Lamont Books
Other Purchases
These were purchased at the end of last year to replace missing books, complete series that we already had or just to add new titles to our collection.
Resource Centre Committee
The Resource Centre Committee has a very active membership from Years 5/6 this year with the support of a few Year 7 students.
We are also looking for volunteers from the secondary school.
The students have already selected different events they want to be part of organising such as Book Week (August) and Simultaneous Read (May). They have also placed their name against some books/activities as part of the new read and do club that we are offering to students in the Primary School. The first one will be run over the last 4 weeks of this term for Years 3 and 4. The leaders will read books to Years 3 and 4 we will then spend the 4 weeks creating an artwork. The activities the students are running will be extremely exciting.
Primary Lego and Coding Club
We are also looking for secondary students to run primary lego and/or coding activity during lunchtime - days and terms are negotiable.
Library Lovers Day
February 14 saw a number of activities take place in the library:
- The first 20 borrowers over the recess and lunch breaks received a goodies bag, with a couple of heart chocolates, a bookmark, and little hearts on toothpicks stood in magic clay. These were so popular that they disappeared in the first 10 minutes of recess.
- We began “Our blind date with a book”. The Primary School books were all borrowed by Wednesday. We do still have a few Secondary aged books on the table.
- During lunch time on Monday we invited students to the Resource Centre to create bookmarks of their own by colouring in a variety of templates.
Thank you to all the students who supported this event and the activities.
