Student Immunisations Years 7 and 10

Year 7 Immunisations

Dear Year 7 Parents/Guardians,

Please read the following information regarding the Year 7 Immunisations from Darebin Council.

-----------------------

Staff from Darebin immunisation service will be visiting Northcote High School in term 1, 2022 to immunise year 7 students.

What vaccines are given at school visits?

There are two vaccines recommended for students in year 7, which protect against:

  • diphtheria, tetanus, and whooping cough (pertussis)
  • human papillomavirus

Immunisation is an important and effective way to protect your child, their peers, and the wider community from serious disease.

What do I need to do?

We need your consent to provide vaccines for your child. There are two ways you can let us know your choice. You can either:

  • Complete a consent form online by visiting https://bit.ly/CODImY722 or scanning this QR code with your mobile device, OR
  • Visit your school office to complete a consent card.

What if I don’t want my child to be immunised at school?

We run open sessions for the community at venues across Darebin. You are welcome to bring your child to one of these, or you can see your GP or another immunisation provider. If you decide to immunise elsewhere or not at all, please indicate on the consent form so we know not to contact you.

What if I have more questions?

We can be reached on 03 8470 8562 or by email at immunise@darebin.vic.gov.au
