Junior Girls
The Junior Girls have had a fantastic start to the year!
We’ve welcomed new year 7 students, Lucy, Ella, Ainslie, Hannah, and Ashley who are settling in well.
We’ve also welcomed some new students in years 8 and 9, Maya, Lucy E, and Elsie.
The girls have been enjoying spending time with Siggy at activities at the pool and going downtown for street leave.

The beginning of a new year and the welcoming of new borders has been exciting this year as there was the opportunity to meet with the new year 10 and 11 girls on Monday 31st before all the returning borders arrived. The opportunity to meet the parents as well made this a special occasion.
There have been a few ‘homesick’ moments but generally, the new girls in Year 10 and 11 have been positive about life in boarding.
‘Upstairs’ in the Senior Girls area there has been a lot of interior decorating and making rooms uniquely their own by all the girls. This helps in creating a space that feels like a haven for those moments when quiet and alone time is needed. The discussions about plants and where the best aspects for them to thrive in the dorm have also been interesting.
Overall it has been a great start to the year despite the Covid restrictions. Keeping out of your best friends room has been the biggest challenge but the senior girls have been incredibly cooperative and understanding.
Birthday celebrations are important so a birthday tree has been created in the common room. Jordyn had an outing with several of the Year 12 girls for her birthday and we have more coming up in February.
The start of this year bodes well for a happy, fun and productive year ahead.
Swimming has been an exciting addition this month with both schools having their swimming carnivals. Ellisha Olsen in grade 11 did extremely well to gain personal bests and first places in 5o metre freestyle and backstroke for KCC.
Lillian Holtorf in year 12 attended the 2022 Country Swimming Championships at Homebush on the weekend of 19th and 20th 0f February. Lillian was entered into 9 races and attained personal best in two races and top ten placement in several. Unfortunately the last day of the meet was postponed when Lillian was entered into races where she was hoping for a medal gain. She is hoping there will be a rerun of those races in the not too distant future.
Many of the girls have been involved in water polo, netball, basketball, soccer and football as well as attending gym.

Welcome back, everyone. I hope you all enjoyed the Christmas break. It's been lovely getting to know our new year 7 and 8 boarders and catching up with some familiar faces from last year. I'm noticing lots of new friendships forming and the boys' confidence growing every day. With the warm weather, we have been spending a lot of time down at the pool and also time inside playing cards and board games, shooting hoops, and playing foozball .
The boys have settled into their new routine quickly and are a pleasure to have in the boarding house. The boys are taking pride in their rooms with many competing for best room prizes each week.
Farewell Tom Scott. To left us at the end of 2021 to attend Canberra Grammar as a boarder.
We wish him all the best

Welcome to all our new and old students and families to MEBS for 2022. Hope everyone had a safe and happy Christmas and New Year holiday. Fingers crossed that 2022 is a lot smoother than last year and we get to enjoy some sort of normality.
This year we welcome 4 new students to MEBS Jed Beavan, Leon Smit, Lachlan Crawford, and Ryan Bourne. The lads have settled in nicely and will be an asset to the senior boys' group. We also have the Year 10 lads under the senior group which has been a great opportunity to get to know them and I look forward to the next 3 years
Rusty's team went down in a nail-biter by 4 points recently against the Monaro Cults.
A great game!
