Kingston City Council Community Spirit and Leadership Award 2021

Federal Member for Isaacs, Mark Dreyfus was onsite to present this special award. 

 

Awarded to Keeley W

You show exceptional leadership skills, you are dependable, very organised and you show initiative. You have passionately shared your own interests with your peers. We love how you have enthusiastically participated in all opportunities and school events. You give your best effort in all assigned tasks and you take pride in your work. You are polite and cheerful, always approaching staff, peers and visitors with a friendly greeting and you always assist students.You have been an admirable Grade 6 school leader and role model for students at OLA. Congratulations Keeley on your outstanding leadership.

 

SSV Sporting and Academic Award 2021

The School Sports Victoria Sporting & Academic Award is awarded to a student who displays outstanding sporting leadership qualities within the school environment and beyond. 

 

Awarded to Emily G

 

You have represented our school on numerous occasions at District, Division and Regional levels for your age group and been a consistent winner in school based events In 2021. You qualified in the AFL tryouts  in the Southern Metropolitan Region. In Swimming, you came first at District level in the Freestyle and Medley Relays. At the Regional level you came second in the Freestyle and Medley relays. In Athletics you placed first in many trials including 100m, 200m, 800m, high jump and hurdles. For Cross Country you achieved the fastest time here at OLA and qualified for the Southern Metropolitan Region, You were a successful member of the School Girls Soccer Team and the Girls Tee-ball Team, winning the District competition for both sports. You were selected for the District Basketball and the Girls Soccer Teams. 

 

Emily- you demonstrate persistence and are always eager to help and train to better yourself. As a School Captain you have been an admirable Grade 6 School Leader and role model for students at OLA.  You have been a high achiever in all areas of the curriculum and  you give your best and achieve great results academically. Congratulations Emily.

 

 

Young Achiever Award 2021

This award is especially designed for a student who consistently demonstrates a determination to succeed. This year the 2021 Young Achievers Award goes to two worthy recipients as they have both displayed a fierce determination to succeed throughout their 7 years of primary school.

Ryan, you have always participated in every school activity with enthusiasm and you have demonstrated persistence & perseverance throughout your school years.

Elliot, you approach your learning with grit and determination. You continued to work hard throughout remote learning, you listen to feedback and consistently do your best.

Lorraine Francis Award 2021

Nick Stakos, Member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly representing Bentleigh was onsite to present this special award.

 

Awarded to Zara S

Congratulations for demonstrating outstanding leadership, using your initiative to excel in all areas of school life. Zara, you go out of your way to assist others so they can also achieve success. You are a very responsible School Captain, assisting families by leading school tours and answering questions about school life. You have an outstanding work ethic, always providing additional details and facts in your work. You are a caring and thoughtful student and an outstanding role model. Congratulations Zara.

 

Charlie Mizzi Award 2021

The Charlie Mizzi Award was donated by local politician, Meng Heang, from Clarinda.

Congratulations for demonstrating excellence in leadership, Amelia. You have been a responsible leader throughout your time at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Primary School. You consistently show remarkable initiative, leading and helping students from Prep to Grade 6. You are a very helpful, thoughtful and caring student and your work ethic is exceptional. You are an asset to the school and an outstanding role model. We congratulate you on this outstanding effort Amelia.

Congratulations for your continued hard work and dedication in Garden Club. You have been a committed member and an outstanding role model for the Prep students, guiding them and teaching them all in all aspects of the Program.

 

 

 

Mary MacKillop Kindness Award 2021

A past student of OLA, Peter Gourlay has kindly made a donation to be awarded to an OLA student each term. This award is for significant contributions by a student that has helped ensure the school community is kinder, happier and stronger. This will be an ongoing award in memory of Peter’s parents.

Congratulations for being a great leader this year by volunteering to help your peers and teachers whenever there has been a need.  You have welcomed visitors to the school, staff and classmates alike with a smile on your face and you have been a great role model for the younger students of OLA. You consistently look out for other people.  You are kind in your words and actions.  You greet all staff with a good morning and a smile. You also set up a fundraising stall in your street with friends to raise money for Cancer. Thank you for being so kind.
