Numeracy

Maths Makes Mighty Minds

WELCOME BACK!

Everyone was thrilled to be back on site for the start of the school year and we launched straight into investigating what it means to work and think like a mathematician. Students from Prep - Year 6 have been developing their knowledge of Place Value in mathematics sessions and have been using hands on resources including counters, cards, bundling sticks, Unifix and MAB to explore numbers.

SUPPORTING YOUR CHILD AT HOME

Want to know more about how to support your child's learning in Numeracy? Take a peek at this resource created by the Department of Education. It includes games and activities you can play with your child at home, as well as information about the Mathematics curriculum:

LOOKING FOR A QUICK FUN GAME TO PLAY WITH YOUR CHILD?

Maybe try this one- it's called 'Get Out Of My House'. All you need is some counters (or items like lego mini figures), a deck of cards, some paper and a pen. Have fun!

Until next time,
