What have we been doing in PE?
Preps: The Prep students are learning to settle in to the specialist routine. This includes walking down to the gym, lining up, bringing their water bottles and responding to the whistle and teacher instruction.
Grade 1/2: The Grade 1/2 students have been learning the skip without a rope and the single and long jump rope.
Grade 3-6: The Grade 3-6 students have been learning the skills needed to be successful at different athletic events. They have been able to record and provide feedback to a partner which helps to support them in building on their skills.
It would be highly encouraged for students to practise the skills taught in PE at home using a home friendly substitute like socks, paper plates, towels, plastic bags etc.
Just a reminder that students need to ensure they bring a labelled hat and water bottle to PE ready for every lesson and to apply sunscreen on before school, at recess and/or lunch to protect their skin. Also, to ensure they are wearing runners on the day. Below is the PE timetable:
Sport Report

Wanting to get your child involved in a local sporting club? Its not only great to build confidence in sport specific skills, but encourages your child to build on their social interactions. Here is a list of local clubs:
Craigieburn Little Athletics
Little Athletics provides a range of athletic activities including sprinting, hurdles, middle distance running, shot put, discus, javelin, high jump, long jump, and triple jump for the Summer season and cross country for the Winter season. We cater for all children from 5 to 16 years old. No matter what your skills or ability, we are all about participation and making sure you can be your best!
Little Athletics is a great way for children to exercise, learn new skills, have fun and make new friends. By participating in the sport of athletics, athletes increase their fitness levels, become more flexible, and develop core strength and balance. Athletics improves motor skills and running techniques. The core skills can be adapted and applied to many other sports - such as football, soccer, basketball, gymnastics and even dance!
Our Summer season runs from October to March and cross country runs from April to August. Little Athletics runs weekly competitions usually on Saturday mornings from 8.15am. Finishing times can vary depending on the program and number of athletes on the day.
