Meet our new staff

Zoe Cunningham

Hi, I am delighted to start my teaching journey at Auburn High School this year.  I have spent the past two years teaching English and English Language at Doncaster Secondary College and am very excited to test my teaching skills and knowledge in English and Humanities at AHS. In my spare time, I love to practise making new creations in the kitchen, collecting comic books and taking care of my two kittens, Jimmy Neutron and Keanu Reeves. I already feel so welcome here and I cannot wait to see what 2022 has in store at Auburn.

Hi there, I'm teaching Psychology and Humanities.  I've been teaching for the past 11 years at Albert Park College in the Humanities, English and Science departments and I'm looking forward to working with parents, students and the team here at Auburn High School to promote the love I have for these subjects.  When I'm not marking students’ work, I love to bake, run, read and my latest COVID lockdown challenge was to make clay earrings.

Hi there, like some of your family I am new to Auburn High School.  Coming to a place where you don't know anyone can be a little daunting but both staff and students at AHS have rolled out the welcome mat.  After only one week, I feel right at home.  Thanks everyone!  My last school was Glen Waverley Secondary College, also a great school.  I'm a late bloomer in education following a career change from law.  This year I am teaching Legal Studies, Business Management and year 8 and 10 Humanities.

Out of school I like to play piano, run, get in and on the water and ski (though not much lately).  I can't wait to see what we can all achieve this year.

Hello everyone, I am very excited to join the Auburn High School family this year as a Maths teacher.  I come from China.  I completed my bachelor and master degrees in Melbourne.  After graduation, I worked as an IELTS teacher for over four years.  Now, I am completing my second master degree at the University of Melbourne.  I am really looking forward to getting to know the students here at Auburn High School.

Hello, I’m looking forward to teaching Years 7-9 French at Auburn High School this year.  I come from the French island of Reunion in the Indian Ocean and moved to Melbourne in 2001.  I obtained my Diploma of Education in 2002 and have been teaching French in Melbourne since then.  I enjoy winding down with yoga, gardening and spending time with my family.  And eating cheese, of course.

Hello!  I’m super-excited to join the AHS community as a Visual Arts and Design teacher this year.  I have previously taught in a range of schools across Victoria and the UK, which has enabled me to explore some amazing places and work with many budding young artists.  Outside of school, I love travelling, reading, swimming and all things art and design.  I feel very welcomed by all the staff and students at AHS and am looking forward to a fantastic 2022!

Originally from New Zealand, I have lived in Melbourne for just over 18 years and definitely consider it home!  I studied French at university, and have worked in banking, financial management and admin roles in the years since.  I’ve been a parent at AHS since 2015 and am very happy to be working at the school now.

Hi AHS students, staff and community,

I’m excited to be joining Auburn Highs School as an Art and Visual Design Communication teacher.  I recently graduated from Deakin University with a Master of Teaching (Primary/Secondary).  I also have a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in oil painting.  In my spare time, I practise oil painting, watercolour and drawing. I am particularly excited to be teaching in the arts at AHS because I have a deep interest in all kinds of art and design, along with a keen interest in young people's educational wellbeing.  Personally, I love how arts and design can support our younger generations' educational growth.

Hi!  I’ll be teaching Years 7 to 9 Maths, Science, Digitech, and possibly Year 9 Psychology.  I have a background in software development in the Engineering and Financial industries and also in Education Research on assessment for learning and innovative learning environment design and use.  I recently qualified as a teacher through the Teach for Australia program, based at Narre Warren South P-12 College.  I have also been part of Auburn High’s parent community so I’ve seen the values and sense of community in action!
